July 24th and 25th: Four Tenri Players competed in the USA Judo Junior Olympics in Duluth, GA: -Cassidy and Cole Chandler, -Taylor Ibera, -Dane Pa'ihi Pestano.
All four won their divisions and came home with Gold Medals.
Additionally, Taylor Ibera and Dane Pa'ihi Pestano were chosen for the USA Judo Junior World team. The Junior World Championships will be held in October in Morocco.

Congratulations to Mindy Chow and Taylor Ibera. Both girls placed third at the Senior Nationals held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on May 1st and 2nd. Taylor won the bronze medal in the women's 44kgs division, and Mindy won the bronze medal in the women's 63 kgs division. Congratulations Taylor and Mindy!

On June 13th 2009 Chrissy Chow competed in the 52 kgs division at the Junior Pan Ams in El Salvador. Chrissy went 3-1 winning the silver medal. The USA Female Junior team also won the silver medal in the team competition. Congratulations Chrissy!
The Hawaii High School State Championships were held May 9th, 2009 at the Stan Sheriff Center. Four Hawaii Tenri Judoka won State Judo Titles, three Tenri Judokas were runner ups, and two took third place and one placed 5th.
Also Congratulations to Coach Greg Chow! Both the Punahou Boys and Girls won the State Team Championships.

Hawaii Tenri State Champions in Judo: Tani Ader, Chrissy Chow, Taylor Ibera, Daniel Chow ( Not pictured Arnold Toriumi) Tani Ader and Daniel Chow have also been inducted into the 2008 HHSAA Hall of Honor!

Daniel Chow. This is Daniel's third straight State Championship in Judo. Daniel has also won three straight State Championships in Wrestling.

2008 SCHOLASTIC NATIONALS, MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN
On March 29th & 30th eight Hawaii Tenri players competed in the Scholastic Nationals in Wisconsin. Kaimana Lundquist, Dane Pestano, Jared Kaneko, Noah Pineda-Abaya, Cole Chandler, Cassidy Chandler, Chrissy Chow and Mindy Chow all competed.
We returned home with six gold medals and one bronze. Kaimana, Dane, Cole, Cassidy, Chrissy and Mindy all won gold. Noah won a bronze medal.
Chrissy was also named the Most Outstanding Female Competitor of the tournament.
Everyone did a great job and congratulations to all!
